Warrenville Warriors Travel Baseball

The Warrenville Warriors are the traveling baseball program of the Warrenville Athletic Association (WAA) an affiliate organization of the Warrenville Park District.  This program is focused towards WAA players and Warrenville Park District/ School District 200 residents ages 10 to 14, who are seeking a higher level of competition and who are willing to make a substantial commitment to playing baseball. Players are selected by their age group’s coaching staff based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, performance level, commitment, ability, effort and attitude.  Tryouts for the Warriors program are held in August/September for the upcoming season.  Warriors Travel Baseball has fielded full-time teams at 11U, 12U, 13U and 14U age levels. Part Time teams have also been formed at the 9u and 10u levels. Players at the 9u and 10u age groups must play in the WAA in house league for that playing season. The WAA encourages grade appropriate play.  Age eligibility is determined by the player’s age on April 30th, 2010.

Full time Warrior teams play (approx. 40-60 games), competing with other community traveling teams and in local and (possibly) out of state tournaments. Part time teams play approx 20-25 travel games while also playing a 14-16 game schedule with their in house teams.  Teams train indoors beginning in early January and running thru the winter months. Practices continue throughout the season, which typically runs from April 1, through mid to late July.

There is a registration fee charged to each player to help cover the costs associated with this program. Every effort is made to keep registration fee’s as low as possible and this is accomplished via various fundraising programs conducted by each individual team. Player and families are required to participate in fundraising efforts. Sponsors also play a very important role in assisting with our travel program and are actively sought.

Note that playing time will depend on, but is not limited to, a player’s performance, dedication, and attitude during practice and games and is at the MANAGER’S DISCRETION.  Players will not be guaranteed playing time.  Every effort will be made to give players a chance to earn positions during practices and practice games.
